Anyone familiar with Glock magazines knows they can be difficult to disassemble and clean. Without the use of proper tools, the can be damages during that process. Dirt and grime work their way into the magazine tube and need to be removed for 100 percent reliability.
The GTUL (pronounced “G-tool”) is a patent-pending magazine takedown system developed by GTUL, LLC for use with Glock 9mm Luger and .40 S&W magazines. The GTUL ring fits snugly around the base of the magazine and two steps on the interior surface grip the sides of the magazine tube. An optional brush with a 1.25″ metallic pin on the underside of the brush handle is usedd to punch through the hole on the underside of the magazine to release the floorplate retaining pin (if present). The tough polymer ring has a 1/8″ space to provide room for the user to constrict the ring, and thereby the magazine tube, thus relieving the locking tabs from the recesses that hold the floorplate onto the magazine. This precise constriction protects the integrity of those locking tabs and recesses.
After sliding the floorplate from the bottom of the magazine and removing the magazine insert, spring and follower, the user may then scrub the inside of the magazine tube with the plastic-bristled brush to remove dirt, dust, powder residue and other contaminants that may inhibit proper magazine function. After re-inserting the follower, spring and magazine insert, the ring can then be used to help slide the floorplate back into place by again constricting the magazine tube. Contact: GTUL, LLC (Dept.
